Office fit-out in Foulath, Hidd
Complete interior fit-out works including MEP & furniture installation. Five hundred square metres of working office inside the Foulath plant at Hidd, refurbished over forty days without the floor ever closing.
The constraint — working four in the afternoon to six in the morning, around occupied desks
The condition that shaped the whole programme was the working window. Site hours ran from four in the afternoon until six the following morning, because the offices were occupied through the day and the business could not stop to accommodate a fit-out. Everything — demolition, partitioning, services, finishes — happened after the staff had gone home and had to be cleared before they came back.
How we solved it — dust and odour containment on a live office floor
Working around occupied desks makes protection a larger part of the job than the construction itself. We built dust and odour containment around each work zone and maintained it nightly, so that paint, adhesives and demolition dust stayed inside the area being worked on. An office that smells of solvent at nine in the morning is a failure even if the joinery is perfect.
What this means for an office fit-out
The client's consultant approved materials by sample and mock-up before anything was procured or installed, which is the right way to run a corporate refurbishment and one that rewards a contractor who plans procurement early. We finished inside the forty days, on an operating industrial site, to the client's own health and safety standards.
