Restaurant fit-out at Najma Club
Complete interior fit-out including civil, MEP, glass and joinery installation. A two hundred and fifty square metre drive-thru at Najma Club, delivered in forty-five days against a handover date carrying a penalty.
The constraint — forty-five days, a penalty clause, and night working only
The handover date carried a financial penalty and the site permitted work at night only. Client-supplied material then arrived a week late, which on a forty-five day programme is a substantial share of the time available and lands at the end, where there is nothing left to rearrange.
How we solved it — additional shifts, and drive-thru services engineered properly
We recovered the week by adding shifts rather than asking for the date to move. Drive-thru units also carry mechanical and electrical requirements a standard cafe does not — the service window, the lane equipment and the extract all have to be coordinated as one system — and that is specialist work rather than an extension of an ordinary fit-out.
What this means for a restaurant fit-out
A penalty clause changes how a programme has to be built. There is no version of the schedule where the last week absorbs a problem, so the float either exists early or it does not exist at all.
