The constraint — four days, inside a controlled circuit venue
The deadline was four days, against an event date that could not be discussed. The circuit also applies its own entrance and safety procedures, so every person and every delivery had to clear a process before reaching the floor — which on a four-day programme consumes a meaningful share of the time available.
How we solved it — thirty-five people, around the clock, for four days
We put more than thirty-five people on it and worked twenty-four hours a day for the full four days. The client gave us a specific mention afterwards for the commitment and for delivering on time. Work of this shape is a resourcing and logistics exercise rather than a construction one: the fabrication has to be complete and correct before anything reaches site, because there is no time to correct it there.
What this means for bespoke and specialist work
Event deadlines are the only ones that genuinely cannot move by an hour. What a client is buying on a programme like this is the ability to put thirty-five trained people on a floor at short notice and have them work to a drawing without supervision failing — which is a question about the contractor's own organisation rather than about the product.
